You don't often hear people saying "Please tax me"!  But we are frustrated with the slow progress of climate change legislation.  We had the simple idea of creating a message that says, "I want meaningful governmental action on climate change, and I am willing to put my money where my mouth is by asking for a tax on the carbon dioxide emissions that I am responsible for."  Carbon dioxide (or CO2) is the biggest contributor to global warming.  CO2 is generated whenever fossil fuels such as oil, gas, or coal are burned.  A tax on these emissions would create a financial incentive for people and businesses to conserve energy and use alternatives like solar and wind.
