The “2C carbon budget” gives each North American an average travel budget of one metric ton of CO2 per year for the next 35 years in order to keep global warming to less than 2 degrees C above pre-industrial levels. We each travel over 12,500 miles per year on average. Clean travel options exist that can deliver over 12,500 miles per metric ton.
This poster gives a beautiful graphical description of how we can each stay within our travel carbon budget. Great for the classroom, office, or home.
